How to price your storytelling work

We ran a short workshop on how to price your storytelling, starting with the basics of how much you need to earn per hour based on your annual needs and expenses, and then moving on to creating project-based pricing as well as performance-based pricing.

Participants received:

  • A copy of the slides
  • Template: work out your hourly charging rate
  • Template: work out your costs for a large, multi-performance project
  • Template: work out your per-performance costs

If you’d like to download these too, complete the short form on the right. This information will feed neatly into your proposal, which we will discuss in a future session.

How to create a one- or multi-liner for your storytelling business/practice

In our early March 2021 Story Exchange, we had a mini-workshop on how to create a one-liner or multi-line answer to the question “So, what do you do?”  We moved away from simply saying, “I’m a storyteller” to crafting a short answer that tells a short story about a problem, a solution, and a resolution – all with the customer in mind!

Participants received:

  • A copy of the slides
  • A one-liner template
  • A “know your audience” template
  • Possible audiences – the result of the group brainstorm
